St. George, UT (September 17, 2022) – A man was apprehended on Thursday, September 15th after allegedly striking a pedestrian. Then, while attempting to flee the scene, crashing into several other vehicles, all with a blood-alcohol level of more than six times the legal limit.
At about 9:15 p.m., officers from the St. George Police Department responded to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle in the area of 2450 East and 600 North in St. George.
Following the incident, the suspect, since identified as 23-year-old Kord Devan Johnson, fled from the scene along 2450 East.
Upon their arrival, officers learned that another crash had occurred near the intersection of 2450 East and 450 North when a southbound vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed ran a stop sign and collided with two crossing vehicles.
The drivers of both of those vehicles sustained unspecified injuries.
The pedestrian, who was found unconscious but breathing, also sustained severe injuries and was transferred by paramedics to a local hospital. According to doctors, she sustained multiple lacerations and required stitches to her head.
