St. George, UT (August 31, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash in a St. George neighborhood left an elderly man with injuries on Wednesday, August 31st.
According to St. George police, the head-on collision took place at about 5:10 p.m. in the area of 950 South and 161 West when an SUV driving on the wrong side of the road struck a Kia sedan driven by a 75-year-old man.
According to police, after the impact, the adult female driver of the SUV exited her vehicle, blamed the victim for driving on the wrong side of the street (he wasn’t), and then fled the scene.
The elderly victim sustained an unspecified head injury.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Hit-and-run collisions almost always present unique challenges not present in other kinds of car accidents.
As police do their best to find the hit-and-run driver, they will most likely have many other pressing investigations that they consider a priority. Those affected by a hit-and-run accident may find it advantageous to avail themselves of a private investigator and their special skill sets.
Along with worrying about your recovery and the complications that come with expensive but necessary healthcare, the pursuit of a faceless, nameless driver will be a major concern.
If the hit-and-run driver can’t be found, the injured party or a member of their family might have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. These benefits can offer desperately-needed compensation for medical bills and the replacement of lost income.
