Utah requires every single driver to carry a minimum of $3,000 in Personal Injury Protection insurance. This is intended to satisfy the cost of any medical treatment for their injuries, $20 a day in household help, and as much as $250 per week in lost wages, regardless of who was liable.
For most Utah car crash victims, however, this is nowhere near enough to cover all of their accident-related damages and losses. It also fails to proved victims with any measure of financial compensation for their pain and suffering.
