Salt Lake City, UT (October 02, 2022) – Two people died when a truck crash caused the vehicle to flip into a roadside ravine on Interstate 215 on Saturday, October 1st.
Utah state troopers and DPS officials were dispatched to the scene in the area of 1000 South at about 1:00 p.m.
According to eyewitnesses, a pickup truck was traveling in a southbound lane when, for reasons yet to be determined, it swerved to the right and left the roadway.
The pickup then entered a ravine and came to an uncontrolled stop on its roof after rolling into a ditch filled with water.
Upon their arrival, officers found an adult male driver and his passenger dead inside the vehicle.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time.
A rollover collision is one where the vehicle flips onto its side or roof. Rollover crashes often happen when a driver overcorrects after swerving to avoid an object in the roadway or makes a sudden, unexpected stop. Rollover accidents can also stem from an issue with the vehicle’s tires.
Rollover accidents often leave their victims with severe injuries, including:
- Traumatic brain injury
- Spinal cord injuries
- Neck or back injuries
- Broken bones
- Deaths
- Paralysis
If you were injured in a rollover crash, the law entitles you to financial compensation for your injuries. This is true even if the driver is a good friend, coworker, or member of your household.
The catastrophic nature of the above-listed injuries often leaves victims with enormous medical bills, a long period of recovery during which they cannot work, and, in extreme cases, permanent disabilities that could demand a lifetime of care.
