Traffic lights and stop signs exist for a reason. They are designed to control the traffic flow and keep people safe. Drivers have a responsibility to follow driving laws to protect themselves and others from unnecessary harm. Sadly, many drivers still ignore stop signs and run red lights. They are often in a hurry to get where they are going or do not have their full focus on the road. Regardless of their reason for disregarding lights or signage, they can cause serious accidents. If two vehicles collide as a result of this kind of driver negligence, it can cause catastrophic injuries and even death.
Generally speaking, the driver who entered the intersection on a red light or without stopping at a stop sign is at fault for the crash. If someone is injured by the negligent driver, they are entitled to sue for compensation. With the aid of an experienced intersection accident attorney, the injured party will be able to recover damages for hospital bills, lost income, and property damage.
