Bluffdale, UT (October 01, 2022) – A 10-year-old out for an evening ride on his bicycle was hit by a driver and hospitalized on Thursday, September 29th.

The accident happened in a residential area and the driver was within the confines of the speed limit. The parents of the victim have been notified.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Drivers have a lot of responsibilities such as paying attention to other vehicles, stop lights, road signage, and pedestrians. Unfortunately, it is also quite typical for drivers to be changing the radio, making a phone call, putting on makeup, having a bite to eat, or engaging in countless other forms of distraction.
Watching out for bicycle riders is not a priority for every driver. Additionally, Utah has a significant number of badly maintained roadways and aggressive, even outright hostile, drivers. Add to that a restricted number of bike lanes, frequently shifting weather patterns, and deep-seated issues with the state’s infrastructure and you have a recipe for an absolute disaster.
Our Utah bicycle accident attorneys have represented a broad range of bike crash victims who have endured serious injuries such as:
- Traumatic brain injuries/Concussions
