Park City, UT (May 19, 2022) – The Park City Fire District was dispatched to an accident with a vehicle rollover that stopped traffic on Interstate-80 on Thursday, May 19th.
At about 9:45 a.m., Park City Fire Department Engine 33, Heavy Rescue 36, Engine 37, Ambulance 37, BC 3 Ambulance 21, and NSDF Engine 21 all responded to a collision that left a tractor-trailer overturned in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 in the area of milepost 150.
One person was transported by responders to a local medical facility in non-critical condition.
The crash also resulted in a serious oil spill across the roadway.
Traffic was stalled for nearly two full hours while police investigated and crews tidied up the accident scene.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
When an accident involving a tractor-trailer is caused by a driver’s negligent behavior and causes other people to sustain damages, the injured victim should seek the legal advice of a commercial truck injury attorney in Utah. When one or more people are harmed due to someone else’s actions, they are eligible to collect compensation for their losses.
In the ten years leading up to 2022, the total number of commercial trucks involved in serious accidents grew by more than 10%; an upsurge blamed largely on avoidable scenarios like being too tired to safely operate a vehicle, operating a commercial truck in an unsafe or perilous fashion, oversized or unbalanced freight, and fault components. Accidents that involve commercial trucks are also just as exposed to the same circumstances that cause automobile collisions, like drivers who are under the influence, driver error, driving while fatigued, defective equipment and equipment failures, and poor or inadequate maintenance.
After being hurt in a collision with a commercial truck, most injured victims will endure a long and grueling recovery. This will quite probably include strenuous and painful physical therapy as well as numerous operations and costly, continuing medical care, all adding to a never-ending inpouring of doctor and hospital bills along with other associated damages such as lost earnings caused by being physically unable to return to work.
Most commercial truck crash victims are, understandably, scared for their future and the future of those who depend on them, and, as a result, they agree to accept the very first settlement the insurance company offers them without understanding their possible future medical expenses and, sometimes, without having been fully diagnosed by a doctor. This common error will leave injured victims on the hook for the remainder of their not-inconsiderable medical bills.
The legal advocation of a skilled Utah commercial truck crash attorney who understands how to figure out the expenses you should anticipate in the months or years to come is your best chance at collecting the financial compensation you deserve.
