Grantsville, UT (March 02, 2022) – The westbound lanes of Interstate 80 were closed down for almost a whole day after an accident involving a Utah Highway Patrol trooper near Grantsville.
The accident, which took place near milepost 85, occurred when a state trooper pulled over a tractor-trailer on the side of the interstate. Another semi tried to change out of the righthand lane to give the trooper space but neglected to notice a car in its blind spot. The truck driver over-corrected, causing the vehicle to sideswipe the first truck as well as the trooper’s SUV.
The force of the impact pushed the truck off of the roadway and caused it to overturn and the attached cab to go on fire. The car the second semi attempted to avoid also crashed, injuring the man and woman inside.
Witnesses of the accident managed to extract the trooper and the occupants of the other car from their vehicles.
All three victims were in stable condition when they were transported to local hospitals.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Tractor-Trailer Accidents in Utah
Following an accident involving a tractor-trailer, most victims face a long road to recovery. This can include rigorous physical therapy and ongoing medical treatments. This means that your medical bills are constantly increasing along with associated losses such as lost income due to being unable to work.
Unfortunately, a lot of victims panic and agree to the first settlement they are offered without considering the trajectory of their future expenses and without knowing the full extent of their injuries. This leaves them to pay for everything else out of pocket.
Obtaining legal representation from an experienced Utah tractor-trailer accident attorney who understands how to determine what expenses you may face in the future will give you your best chance at receiving full and fair financial compensation.
