West Valley City, UT – Intersection Closed Following Multi-Vehicle Crash At 5600 West And 1700 South

West Valley City, UT (June 22, 2022) – A crash involving approximately six vehicles and two tractor-trailers left several people with injuries in West Valley City on Wednesday, June 22nd.

Officials reported that the incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of 1700 South and 5600 West. The intersection and the southbound lane of both streets were obstructed as a result.

Fire crews, police, and EMTs were dispatched to the area. Multiple patients were transferred by ambulances to various local hospitals for treatment. No report has been made on their conditions.

This accident is under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

During the decade preceding 2002, the number of tractor-trailers involved in severe accidents rose by 10%; an increase due primarily to preventable situations such as being too tired to drive safely, driving a truck in an unsafe manner, oversized or unstable payloads, and defective parts. Accidents involving tractor-trailers are also prone to the same factors that cause regular vehicle accidents, such as drivers who are drunk, driver error, fatigued driving, equipment malfunctions, and improper maintenance.

After being struck by a tractor-trailer, many victims must face a long and excruciating recovery. This may include rigorous and agonizing physical therapy in addition to multiple surgeries and expensive, ongoing medical treatments, all contributing to a continuously-growing stack of hospital bills combined with other associated damages like lost income from being unable to work.

Sadly, most tractor-trailer crash victims panic and concede to the first settlement they are offered without giving thought to their possible future medical expenses and, oftentimes, without having received their final medical diagnosis. This common mistake leaves victims to cover the not-inconsiderable remaining costs out of pocket.

The representation of a professional Utah tractor-trailer accident attorney who knows how to accurately calculate the expenditures you can expect to make in the coming months is your best shot at securing the financial compensation you deserve.
