Accidents involving motor vehicles are a typical sight in the state of Utah. These automobile collisions vary from fender benders to rollovers, resulting in everything from minor scrapes and dings to injuries that are either devastating or lethal.
In point of fact, accident victims sometimes receive injuries of such a severe nature that they need weeks, months, or even years of therapy and rehabilitation in order to fully recover from their ordeals.
And throughout the state of Utah, vehicle insurance laws are considered to be modified comparative fault rules. This means that parties who have been harmed in an accident may file a claim for damages as long as the at-fault driver is responsible for a greater portion of the collision. In the event that the jury concludes that you, as the victim, were responsible for any portion of your accident, the amount of compensation that you get will be decreased by that proportion.
