Howell, UT (July 11, 2022) – On Monday, July 11th, lanes of Interstate 84 were shut down due to an accident between a semi-truck and a passenger car.
The collision, according to Utah Highway Patrol officers, happened in the eastbound lanes of the highway close to milepost 12, close to Howell.
According to the Utah Department of Transportation, the tractor-trailer was towing some sort of cargo at the time of the collision, although further details were not provided.
The truck driver had non-critical injuries, according to authorities on the site, and was sent to a local hospital for care.
As multiple response teams arrived on the site and started working to remove the damaged automobiles, the eastbound right lanes of I-84 were closed for a while.
Our sympathies are now with the wounded person’s family. Our wish is for them to fully recover.
A semi-truck injury lawyer in Howell should be consulted by the aggrieved party if a negligently caused collision results in third parties suffering damages. The law gives victims of the wrongdoing of another the right to restitution for their losses.
The number of semi-trucks involved in serious accidents increased by 10% in the ten years prior to 2002; this increase was primarily the result of circumstances that could have been avoided, such as being too fatigued to drive safely, operating a truck in a dangerous manner, carrying oversize or unbalanced loads, and defective parts. The same causes that lead to auto accidents, such as drunk drivers, driver mistakes and errors, sleepy driving, equipment failures, and inadequate maintenance, are also more likely to occur in semi-truck accidents.
Most victims of semi-truck accidents have a painful and protracted rehabilitation ahead of them. This may include extensive and uncomfortable physical therapy, several expensive operations, and continuous medical treatments, all of which result in a mounting pile of hospital bills and other connected damages like lost wages from being unable to work.
Unfortunately, the majority of semi-truck collision victims are in a state of panic and accept the first settlement that is presented to them without considering their potential future medical bills and, often, before they have gotten their final medical diagnosis. Because of this frequent error, victims are left to pay the substantial remaining expenses out of pocket.
Your greatest chance of obtaining the compensation you are entitled to is by retaining the services of an experienced semi-truck accident lawyer in Utah who can estimate the costs you may anticipate incurring in the next months.
