Draper, UT (July 24, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed when he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 15 on Sunday, July 24th in Draper.
The motorcyclist was riding in the southbound lanes of the interstate in the area of 15000 South when they were rear-ended by a Tesla on auto-pilot at about 1:10 a.m.
The force of the impact ejected the rider from the bike, causing fatal injuries.
The driver of the Tesla admitted to the crash investigators that he did not see the biker because the vehicle’s autopilot was engaged at the time of the collision.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notification.
