Sigurd, UT (August 9, 2022) – Due to an incident between a large tractor-trailer and another passenger car on State Route 24 in Sevier County on August 9, several lanes were restricted, and a number of injuries were reported.
At approximately 10:15 p.m. in the late evening, the Utah Highway Patrol reports that an accident at mile marker 19 obstructed both lanes of traffic.
The truck driver was reportedly taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The region’s roads were stopped for many hours as rescue personnel removed the debris. There is currently no further information available.
Our sympathies go out to the wounded parties and their loved ones. We wish for the complete recovery of all victims.
During the decade before 2002, the number of semi-trucks involved in fatal accidents grew by 11%, mostly due to preventable factors such as driver fatigue, reckless driving, high or imbalanced loads, and faulty components. Semi-truck accidents are susceptible to the same causes as car accidents, including inebriated drivers, driver mistakes, fatigued driving, equipment failures, and poor maintenance.
The majority of semi-truck accident victims must endure a painful and protracted healing procedure. This may need arduous and painful physical therapy in addition to many procedures and expensive, ongoing medical treatments, all of which result in an ever-growing pile of hospital bills in addition to other connected damages, such as lost wages due to inability to work.
Sadly, the majority of semi-truck accident victims take the first settlement without considering their potential future medical expenses and, in some instances, without a confirmed medical diagnosis. This common error leaves victims responsible for the remaining, not insignificant, expenditures.
When carelessness causes damage on the road, a victim should talk with a Utah semi-truck injury lawyer. A victim of another’s conduct is legally entitled to recompense.
You have the greatest chance of collecting the compensation to which you are entitled if you are represented by an experienced Utah semi-truck accident attorney who is able to predict the expenditures you may incur over the next several months.
