Intersection Accidents in Utah
In 2018, Utah witnessed 58 fatal intersection accidents which accounted for 21.2% of its car accident-related deaths, reflecting a 6.5% reduction when compared to 2016.
Even in the absence of design flaws, such as obscured street signage or potholes, intersections present unique hazards for drivers in Utah. There are often several drivers, bicycle riders, and/or pedestrians traveling at different speeds in different directions, and some intersections have up to six lanes all coming together. Intersection accidents, even at slow speeds, are capable of causing serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.
