Taylorsville, UT (September 23, 2021) – A motorcyclist is in stable condition following a collision with a pick-up truck on Thursday, September 23rd in Taylorsville.
The accident took place at about 3:45 p.m. on 4700 South.
Taylorsville officers responded to the scene. They were told by eyewitnesses that the motorcycle was traveling westbound on 4700 South with a pick-up truck in the lane next to him.
The driver of the truck didn’t appear to notice the motorcycle, they collided, and the motorcyclist was thrown from his bike. He sustained several injuries and was transported by ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center with critical injuries. His condition has since been upgraded to stable.
The biker, a 31-year-old man from West Valley City, was wearing a helmet.
The truck driver, a 32-year-old Taylorsville resident, was unharmed during the crash.
Investigators are looking into multiple factors that might have contributed to the accident. Driver impairment does not appear to be a factor.
