St. George, UT (October 14, 2021) – Two teenagers were hospitalized on Wednesday, October 13th after a car accident in St. George.
Officials were notified of the crash at about 6:25 p.m. at the intersection of Valley Springs Drive and Little Valley Drive where a Toyota 4runner SUV sustained heavy front-end damage.
The SUV was partly up on the sidewalk, while the rest of it obstructed the southeast lane of Little Valley Drive.
Police on the scene said that the 4runner’s driver, a 16-year-old male, turned onto Little Valley Drive and started to leave the roadway. The inexperienced driver then overcorrected, causing the SUV to crash into large rocks at the base of a brick wall near the sidewalk.
Both the driver and his 16-year-old passenger sustained injuries during the impact.
The driver endured an injury to his lower leg and the passenger had a possible broken clavicle. Both boys were transported by ambulance to St. George Regional Hospital for immediate care.
No citations have been issued.
Personnel from St. George Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance also responded to the incident.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
