Car Accidents in Utah
In 2015, 276 people were killed in Utah car accidents; the highest fatality rate in the state in the last seven years. According to an official from the Utah Highway Patrol, about 93% of those deaths were the result of human error.
Although driving regulations and laws in every state exist for the sole purpose of preventing car accidents and the loss of life, it is clear that not enough is being done. Particularly when you learn that Utah’s rate of fatal car accidents has increased by more than 25% since its all-time low in 2012.
While some of these fatal accidents can be attributed to an overall increase in travel, most of the state’s deadly crashes happen because drivers refuse to heed the state’s warnings about safe driving.
Offenses ranging from not being properly restrained while the vehicle is moving to driving while drunk, Utah residents seem absolutely determined to go against the law and common sense.
