Roy, UT (May 22, 2021) – A chain-reaction collision in a construction zone closed down the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 at 5600 South on Saturday, May 22nd in Roy.
Sources stated that, initially, a Toyota SUV rear-ended a minivan. Then, after an evasive maneuver to avoid that crash, another SUV pulling a trailer sideswiped both of those vehicles and crashed into a barrier wall.
Two people were taken to the hospital via ambulance in non-critical condition.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Car accidents occur on Utah highways and streets every day. In 2018, more than 62,000 crashes happened statewide, costing 260 victim lives and causing 25,645 more to endure injuries.
These numbers show just how dangerous driving can be. The injuries you receive, whether critical or minor, could permanently rob you of your ability to do a lot of the things you take for granted, such as your ability to earn a living, your good health, and your ability to enjoy life.
We know that no amount of money can ever really fix things after the loss of someone you love from the reckless or negligent actions of another, but families with the ability to afford medical care, burial costs, and other expenses they endure have a far easier time facing their loss.
