Lehi, UT (May 07, 2021) – A man was killed when he jumped out of the truck he was driving after it started to lose control at the site of the Staker Parson concrete and asphalt company, in the 11700 block of North Thanksgiving Way on Thursday, May 6th in Lehi.
An official with the Lehi police stated that at about 2:30 p.m., 37-year-old Jesus Ponce was operating a truck that had been contracted by another company and was packed full of crushed concrete. As Ponce drove up the incline that leads into the yard, the truck began to lose control.
Ponce attempted to jump to safety as the truck lost control, which authorities said may have been the cause of his death. According to Lehi police, the truck Ponce had been driving was removed from the yard for safety checks and inspections.
The incident is under investigation.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Jesus Ponce, at this time.
