When injuries are sustained in a Utah car crash, there are two avenues available for collecting any compensatory damages. You can either file a claim with the insurance carrier or you can file a personal injury claim in civil court. Utah abides by a no-fault insurance policy, which requires drivers to carry specific levels of personal injury protection.
Prior to filing a claim with the negligent driver’s insurance company or filing a claim in court, you will be expected to file a claim with your own insurance company. There are a few factors that could excuse you from this process, such as permanent disabilities or dismemberment, impairment, disfigurement, and medical costs that exceed $3,000.
When injuries are caused in car accidents due to the carelessness of other motorists, those victims need legal guidance from a knowledgeable personal injury accident attorney in Salt Lake City. Anytime a person is harmed due to another driver’s negligence, they are lawfully allowed to recover financial remuneration from the responsible party in order to ease the economic hurdles brought on by hospital bills, lost wages, property damage, and many other losses.
