Salt Lake City, UT (July 26, 2021) – The Salt Lake City Police Department was called to the scene of a deadly hit-and-run accident that took place at the intersection of 300 South and 551 West in Salt Lake City.
The crash occurred at about 8:50 a.m. Officers responded after hearing the collision while they were responding to an unrelated call in the area.
Police stated that, in spite of officer aid, the victim died on the scene. It is unclear if the deceased was a pedestrian or the occupant of another vehicle.
According to officials, the driver involved in the accident fled the scene. A search is currently underway for a 2013 Subaru Im[reza station wagon with heavy front-end damage.
300 South from 600 West to 500 West was shut down for several hours while police conducted an investigation.
