West Valley City, UT (December 2, 2021) – A man was taken to an area hospital in serious condition after he was hit by a car while crossing 3400 South near 1400 West on Wednesday evening, December 1.
West Valley police said that, around 9:45 p.m., they received reports of an auto-pedestrian crash. West Valley Police Lt. Bill Merritt added that the driver stayed at the scene to cooperate with authorities.
EMS units took the man to the hospital in very poor condition but paramedics noted that they were able to find a heartbeat while en route. The man’s current condition is unknown, however.
The eastbound lanes from Redwood Road to 1200 West on 3300 South were closed for several hours, and traffic units assisted with the investigation, according to Merritt.
This accident remains under investigation.
