Salt Lake City, UT (December 29, 2021) – Two people and their dog were killed when a fire broke out in a recreational vehicle on Wednesday, December 29th.
The Salt Lake City Fire Department confirmed that one person was also suffering from smoke inhalation.
The fire started at about 7:00 a.m. in an industrial area near 200 South and 1775 West.
When fire crews arrived, they discovered flames burning 30 feet in the air.
The exact cause of the fire is still unknown, although officials said they have seen an increase in fire reports due to malfunctioning heat sources during the winter.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
Products Liability Cases in Utah
Defective and malfunctioning products are, unfortunately, commonplace. The proof of this lies in the number of recalls issued nationwide each year. Most of these recalls, however, are only issued after a considerable number of victims have reported being seriously injured. For anyone who has been injured by a product before its dangerous defects are made known, legal recourse is the best choice.
The people who manufacture products have a non-delegable obligation to guarantee the safety of their users. From automobiles and medications to large machinery and household appliances, manufacturing companies are strictly liable for injuries caused by failures or defects and for warning potential consumers about the inherent dangers of their products.
