Layton, UT (August 18, 2021) – A man has been taken into custody in connection with a wrong-way collision that occurred in the Layton area on Monday, August 16.
The crash reportedly took place on US-89 near Oak Hills Drive, and a total of six vehicles were ultimately involved in the impact. There were multiple injuries reported at the scene. The driver that caused the crash was reportedly driving the wrong way on the highway when he caused the collision.
The driver proceeded to flee the scene, with several witnesses pursuing him on foot. As the man put his hands in his pockets, he was tased by authorities. The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Dayton Williams Rogers of Ogden, and he was arrested for fleeing the scene of a crash. The report indicated that Rogers showed signs of intoxication.
