If you have sustained an injury in a pedestrian accident in Utah, you will undoubtedly receive a phone call from the insurance company of the driver who was involved in your car accident, asking you to provide them with a recorded statement. You are not, however, required to provide one, particularly if you have not yet met with a personal injury attorney.
It is always a good idea to seek the advice of an attorney before providing any kind of statement to anyone. This is due to the fact that insurance companies take the time to teach their adjusters to ask specific questions that are worded in such a way as to actually be used against you and bring down the value of your claim as much as possible. A practiced Utah pedestrian accident attorney will know how to prevent insurance adjusters from taking advantage of you.
While it is true that no amount of money can ever fully make things right after enduring damages due to the careless and negligent actions of a driver, victims discover that having the financial resources necessary to cover medical treatment, lost wages, funeral costs, and other expenses they accumulate after an accident is helpful.
