Heber City, UT (August 02, 2021) – One person died on Sunday, August 1st when they lost control of their car in the center lane of traffic and struck two other vehicles. Five other people were transported to local hospitals.
The Department of Public Safety reported that a gray GMC pick-up truck was heading southbound along State Route 189 in the area of 3000 South, just outside of Heber City when it crossed over the two-way center turn lane and drove straight into oncoming northbound traffic.
At this time. It is not known why the GMC swerved but, as a result, it side-swiped a Ford pick-up truck and then struck a Volvo sports utility vehicle head-on.
The driver of the GMC died at the scene.
The deceased has not been identified, nor has anyone that was transported for medical care.
The injuries sustained by the other victims were not considered life-threatening.
