West Valley City, UT (October 5, 2020) – An accident reported in West Valley City on Sunday afternoon left one man seriously injured. Just before 12:20 p.m., on October 4, officers with the West Valley City Police Department responded to the scene of a crash on 3500 South.
Reports from authorities show that a 58-year-old motorcyclist was exiting a parking lot on 3500 South at the same time as a truck was pulling in. After pulling out into the road, the motorcyclist was struck by a Corvette, which was traveling south on the roadway.
The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and spotted lying in the road. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and immediately began to render aid to the victim. The rider was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Corvette was not injured in this accident. The driver remained at the scene and spoke with law enforcement. An investigation to determine the cause of the crash is currently underway.
